Individual Counseling for Adults
Find Hope and Direction
Perhaps you know exactly what you want to work on. You know you need change in your life. Perhaps it’s treatment for anxiety, depression, or learning to create healthy connections to others and the world around you.
Or maybe you don't know exactly what’s going on, but you know that it’s painful and keeping you from feeling the way you want to feel and living the life you want to live. Individual therapy can be helpful when we are stuck ruminating about the past, uncertain about the future, or struggling with our present circumstances. Let’s work on creating change together.
During individual therapy, you can expect to be guided through ways to develop healthy attitudes towards life’s challenges. You can expect to be surrounded authenticity, plants, and lots of plant related metaphors (after all, we can often blame it on our roots). Lastly, you can expect to work hard to maximize your growth, and you can expect homework!
Individual sessions are available in office or via Telehealth.
Individual Counseling for Adolescents
Finding Strength and Comfort
Adolescents may find themselves in a position where they feel exhausted and overwhelmed by life's challenges.
Has your child expressed unusual/intense fears or levels of stress? Have you noticed a negative change in behaviors, such as an increase in maladaptive coping skills (substance use, self-harm, outbursts, isolation from family)? Does your child appear overwhelmed by expectations, insecure, unsure, or appear to be lacking healthy peer relationships? It may be time to get some help.
Often, adolescents lack a toolbox of skills needed to overcome and and take charge of their emotions. Therapy can be helpful in helping adolescents identify their current challenges and stressors, improve thinking patterns, and rethink their reactions to difficult situations. Typical focuses in therapy may include a focus on gaining empathy, self-compassion, building and maintaining healthy friendships, navigating peer conflict, developing healthy independence, and focusing on outlets for stress.
