Hi, I'm Abbie

I have experience working with different types of trauma, people who are having trouble adjusting to new environments or medical injuries/diagnoses, those navigating acute life crises, first responders, Veterans,  anxiety, grief, and depression. Trauma comes in many forms and can make your life feel permanently on hold, but there is hope. Nobody wants to feel afraid, nauseated, fatigued, or out of control. On the contrary, we would all like to enjoy our work, hobbies, school, sleep, and time with others without becoming swept up in our worries or sadness. Anxiety, trauma, and grief can quickly escalate to a level that attacks our happiness and ability to enjoy life.

I have additional knowledge and training in the areas of Traumatic Brain Injuries, which can lead to changes in the way a person thinks, feels, and behaves, as well as Post-intensive care syndrome (PICS). I believe that professional support during the rehabilitation stage of medical injuries or acute grief can be extremely helpful, as untreated trauma and grief can affect how we view ourselves and the world.

I believe it is important to find a therapist who balances an environment of safety, encouragement, and honesty. My style is warm, relaxed, and authentic, and I believe the therapeutic relationship is a valuable asset in creating positive change in one's life.
